Frederick Charles Clement Calder was Jasper Calder's first cousin. In 1924 he married Ida Estelle Charter (6 January 1897 - 1974). Ida's family were as follows:
Thomas Charter (1862 - 1943) married Mabel Evansen Kipling (1869 - 1951) in 1890. For some time they lived in Eden Vale Road, in Mount Eden, Auckland. Thomas was well known in Auckland in the Kauri gum trade. He was also active in the Church of England, being a lay reader. Thomas and Mabel had the following family:
1. George Connell Charter (1891 - 1891). This baby died aged just a month.
2. Elinor Mary Charter (12 February 1893 - 1987). Elinor married Edward Elliot Malden (1879 - 1946) in 1919.
3. Maud Charter (1894 - 1894). This baby died aged just three months.
4. Ida Estelle Charter (6 January 1897 - 1974) married Frederick Charles Clement Calder (8 June 1894 -1976)
5. Geoffrey Atherton Charter (26 December 1899, Mount Eden - 1981) married Lucy Annetta Joyce Holloway (16 September 1907 - 1976) in 1928.
